Sertsu G. Medhin
Sertsu G. Medhin began his career with Ethiopian Airlines in 1965, embarking on a professional journey that spanned a wide range of operational and leadership roles within one of Africa’s most respected institutions. From early assignments in purchasing and reservations to instructional responsibilities and international postings, he developed a deep, practical understanding of the airline’s operations and organizational structure.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics from Addis Ababa University, a Master’s degree in International Administration from Ohio University, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. His professional experience in the United States includes working with Thomas Cook Travel in support of United Nations operations, as well as pursuing independent ventures in real estate and the financial services industry.
As both a participant in and an observer of Ethiopian Airlines’ evolution, Dr. Medhin brings a rare insider’s perspective to this work, offering thoughtful insights into the institution’s growth, challenges, and enduring legacy.
